RELEASE “Alma Flamenca” Project aims to bring together art lovers and practitioners of flamenco in Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, promoting the exchange of experience among practitioners of dance and music and, especially, engaging new audience for this art. To achieve this objective, the Project has brought, since its debut, not only brazilian artists but also internacional attractions for workshops and shows. The project wants to show that “flamenco” belongs to the World and is a form of expression that can touch anyone. Projects inside the Project: “Conexão Espanha” “Simplesmente Flamenco” “Gravina” HISTORY “Alma Flamenca” was created in 1999 by Allan Harbas and Tiza, artists and producers, aiming to bring together art lovers and practitioners of flamenco in Rio de Janeiro. Among the projects are: “Alma Flamenca” and “Peña Los Harbas” – Concerts with invited artists from Brasil and internacional guests: “Toca Madera”, “Cia. Simona Abrantes”, “Grupo Flamenco Maria Thereza Canário”, “Cia. Victoria Nuñez”, Yara Castro, Fernando De La Rua, Agustin Carbonell “El Bola”, Vera Alejandra, Fábio Rodrigues, Talita Sanchez, Adelita Parras, Mariana Abreu, Karina Maganha, Sara “La Mora”, Natalia Meiriño and Gabriel Simões. Workshops with artists as Fábio Rodrigues, Talita Sanchez, Yara Castro and Fernando de la Rua, Natália Meiriño, Miguel Alonso, Rafaela Carrasco (this one produced by Andrea Guelpa - Triana Flamenca - SP and co-production with Eliane Carvalho 2002), Rosa Jimenez (Rafael Aguilar's Cia.) “Conexão Espanha” – Workshops and shows with great names of flamenco such as Domingo Ortega, Inmaculada Ortega and Pol Vaquero realized in partnership with Toca Madera Produçøes and now with colaboration of executive producers Camila Lopes and Maria Thereza Canário (Estúdio Bailado). “Gravina” – Cd recording with national artists. “Simplesmente Flamenco” – Flamenco shows in its esence always brought to scene by artists of different companies. The "Alma Flamenca" project not only promotes several events but also helps other producer’ s initiatives in this area always fighting for the growth of flamenco art in Brasil.
